When being hot becomes a problem

Excessive heat in the body can result in conditions such as hot flushes, night sweating, skin rashes, blood nose, acid reflux or sleeplessness. This can be due to hormonal changes, toxicity from diet or lifestyle (especially alcohol) and can also occur after having an infection such as a cold or flu.  It is worth coming in for acupuncture to have this heat cleared from the body, as shown in the video the difference in temperature can be noticeable immediately.

There are two types of heat which can be diagnosed from looking at the tongue, either a thick yellow coating covering the tongue or a very red tongue with no coating. In the second case the heat is said to have dried up the body’s fluids so it is also important to replenish these, usually with the help of some Chinese Herbs as well as acupuncture.
